‘Turning Eighties’, a choreography by Taiat Dansa for Ballet Hispánico of New York

‘Turning Eighties’ is a piece of the coreographers Mertixell Barberá and Inma García for the Ballet Hispánico of New York. They draw the particular memory of the cultural, artistic and social scene of the Spanish´s eighties decade known as “La Movida”. The staging, the landscape of movement and the piece texture invite to know the content and the value of this social and cultural movement in this stage of the Spanish´s history. Also they show both coreographers and the musician David Barberá memories about this cultural explosión on their own childhood. The look from the body, the character, the space, the music and, of course, especially the dance, are the tools to be ‘Turning Eighties’.
