Still Life. Work in Progress

There are people who argue that the social exclusion of dance is forever left behind the scenes, the interludes, the breaks, the transitions, the pavements, the frames, the walkways and passages of the Arts. Then, there are those who swear that there isn’t any other way. From the beginning of time, between the arts that were intended to last, it was crucial for humanity to be blessed with dance. An art which is a natural enemy of permanence. An art forgetful by nature, lazy. An art without a past in a bundle called history.

Moreover, it is essential for dance to fill the void between the different representations of art. The lack of any representation would otherwise make the mortal body quintessentially obsolete.

Abstractly, the body can only speak of death believing it is speaking of life. The bodies of the dancers are like guests at the dinner table, discussing depressing topics. Possibly, it is at this end of the conversation where dance finds its life still: Still Life.
